Prom dress shopping and the Internet
Okay ladies, I know I know everything is better when you can do it from home in your pgs. sitting down, and sipping on some nice warm coffee. And who doesn’t like a good deal as well right? Shopping online has become more and more popular with all the online deals, GREAT customer service and of course getting all of that without the interaction of other people. How awesome right! Can’t get any better then that! And your right but, there is always a dark dirty side to everything great. Especially when the perfect offer is a dress worn on the red carpet by someone well known, and you just have to have it for prom. What is the great thing about finding this dress online you ask? It’s like 80% off witch brings the price down by hundreds of dollars. And its yours, all you have to do is enter your card info and click submit and bam. Your red carpet prom dress is on its way! Says till even ship within 2 weeks.
But then you don’t receive it in the 2-week window. Everyone’s freaking out. Mom is panicking because she’s about to break it to dad that she has to spend another hundred dollars on another dress because the perfect dress hasn’t come yet. Dad says wait you still have a whole month for it to come. You finally get that email re assuring you that it’s on its way with only a 3-day delay! Great your getting it on time, all is well. So you think.
You just got home and your body is filled with excitement. There was a package on the doorstep. We all know what’s inside. Everyone gathers around with anticipation waiting while you try on your new dress. Your mom has set you up a little walkway in the living room so grandma, dad, aunt Jackie, and she can see what the dress looks like.
As you sit in your room opening this box your thinking nothing could be wrong right? The worst has already happened. You not getting the dress in 2 weeks time of course. You pull the dress out, take the plastic bag off of it and hang it against your closet door. Your smile quickly turns to a frown. The dress is pink! It was supposed to be black.
You try not to let this bring you down. You look closer at the detail, and try to make the best out of this dress. As you look closer into the dress you realize that the pattern on the dress is not the same. It was supposed to be a V-neck but its not. The neck when on will come up to literally your neck. Things are starting to fall apart. But you still haven’t put it on so lets see what happens.
Happy ending? Not even close. It’s too big up top and to small around your hips. Your choker of a neckline is going to turn you purple. Time to break it to the family. You need another dress.
